A THUG attacked a pregnant woman and his own father, a court heard.

Anthony Antoniou had gone to a property in Southwick and was abusive.

He caused criminal damage to a mobile phone and stole a doorbell.

Those at the property feared he would cause them immediate violence.

Brighton Magistrates’ Court heard how the 52-year-old admitted assaulting his own father Sergious Antoniou.

District Judge Amanda Kelly noted: “The offence is so serious because it was a domestic offence against his own father, causing serious injuries, and it was against others too.”

In a separate incident he stole tobacco from the Premier Inn hotel in North Street, Brighton.

He also carried out an assault upon a pregnant woman there, the court documents showed.

At the hearing last month, Antoniou, of New Church Road, Hove, was jailed for 22 weeks for the two assaults, two thefts, and criminal damage.

He was told to pay a £128 surcharge and was put under a restraining order not to contact the victims. The order lasts until 2026.
