MAY’S full moon is also known as the flower moon because of the abundance of flowers at this time of year.
Argus Camera Club members were, as ever, quick to capture it on film and the results are impressive.
According to Nasa, this week’s supermoon is even closer than the one in April so astronomers - and photographers - are having a treat.
As well as being a supermoon, there was also a lunar eclipse, giving a reddish tinge and turning it into a blood moon.
It should continue to look full to the naked eye today.
This blood moon will be the last one this year as there won’t be another total lunar eclipse until May 15 and 16 next year.
There will be a partial lunar eclipse in November, though it will not be as dramatic effect as a full blood moon.
