A 92-year-old man has appeared in court accused of speeding on a 30mph seafront road.
Pensioner Roy Gillham was charged with speeding in a Mercedes on the A259 Kingsway in Hove.
Brighton Magistrates Court heard how he was allegedly driving too fast on September 24 last year.
The court heard how he is also accused of failing to identify the driver of the Mercedes suspected of speeding.
The law requires motorists who are suspected of road traffic offences to give information to police to identify a driver.
In court, he pleaded not guilty to both offences on April 7.
Gillham, of Osmond Road, Hove, is due to next appear in court again on July 23.
