THERE has been 47 new cases of coronavirus confirmed across Sussex in the past 24 hours, according to the latest daily figures.
Data from Public Health England shows there were 11 new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Brighton and Hove, as of 9am yesterday.
It means a total of 14,717 people have now tested positive in the city.
The rate of infection in Brighton and Hove now stands at 12.4 per 100,000 population, according to the most recent figures for the seven days up to May 23.
In East Sussex there were 15 new cases confirmed over the period.
It brings the total figure for the county to 30,694.
There were 21 more cases recorded in West Sussex, where a total of 42,179 people have now tested positive for Covid-19.
The 47 new cases in Sussex were among the 338 cases recorded across the South East over the period.
There has now been a total of 544,646 cases in the region.
Nationally, 4,182 new cases were recorded yesterday, bringing the UK total to 4,477,705.
Ten people were confirmed to have died within 28 days of a positive test.
It means the total national death toll stands at 127,768.
