THESE pictures show hundreds of motorists queuing for miles as emergency services attended an incident on a major carriageway.

There were long delays on the A27 Eastbound as the road was closed between the A283 junction and the A293 Hangleton link road yesterday.

Police and ambulance crews were pictured at the scene, who stopped traffic for almost three hours while they dealt with the incident.

The Argus understands that the crash involved a motorcyclist.

Images also show dozens of motorists standing on the carriageway that had come to a standstill, while the air ambulance helicopter landed in a nearby field.
