REGARDING the bank holiday gridlock on Brighton seafront (The Argus, June 1).

Whatever the intentions of the council are regarding encouraging more cyclists, this obviously hasn't worked to cut down the number of cars.

And think of the pollution from motorists desperate to get a breath of sea air.

The council encourage people to come to Brighton and then trap them in their cars for hours.

As for children, would you feel safe travelling with them on the back of a cycle in these traffic jams ?
