A NEW radio station has been awarded a licence to broadcast on digital radio.

Regency Radio, based in North Street, Brighton is now available on DAB+ after being granted a licence by broadcast regulator Ofcom.

The station was founded by radio presenters Jay Jackson and Ambrose Harcourt and its presenters include local personalities, among them former TalkSport host Mike Mendoza.

Former Juice 107.2 managing director Laurence Elphick is the station manager.

He said listeners can expect everything from popular hits to club classics and added: “Brighton lost its local radio station a few years ago, leaving a huge gap and that's where we step in. We have already created quite an impact and intend to create a bigger one.

“Amongst all the great music we'll be playing, listeners will be delighted to hear the return to the airwaves of Ambrose's 'Love Zone' playing all your favourite classic love songs and the much missed Love Bites Top Three plus there will be a new show dedicated to 70s roller disco with Carlos Espanol.”

Juice 107.2, Brighton’s former local radio station, went off air in 2018 after it was bought by radio company Global.

Regency Radio is now available DAB+ and you can listen on Alexa, online and via the Regency Radio App.
