UPON my arrival home yesterday, after visiting my lovely friends in Worthing, my husband gave me a letter which had been delivered by the postman. The postmark immediately grabbed my attention.
I am fully aware that not everyone is a royalist. However, I am proud to say that I am, and always have been.
When Prince Philip died, I sent an "in sympathy" card to Her Majesty our Queen. I told her where and when I
gave her flowers and spoke to both her and the prince.
I also said that Prince Harry had held my hand and spoke to me for quite a while when he and Meghan visited Brighton.
I said that I liked Prince Philip’s "gaffes" and the way he said what he thought. He was a lovely man.
I sent my card to Windsor Castle as that is where they were both living due to the pandemic and lockdown.
To my delight, my letter was a card of thanks from Her Majesty, with a really lovely photo of the prince inside.
I have friends who are also royalists, so I will be waving my card under their noses at the first opportunity.
I am sure that I am not the only person who received one of the cards, but I really don’t care about that.
This is my treasure, which I will keep until I die.
