IT WAS so close this week, Friday, June 4.
Council leader Phelim Mac Cafferty is delivering his View From The Leader article in the Argus. Can he get through it without blaming?
Starts well, upbeat comment about removing graffiti, removing more litter, which, as a side point, should be expected as a norm.
Then, the bullet in the foot.
"The government has failed to adequately promote the settlement scheme and confusion over the rights of EU citizens," he says.
Perhaps, if he had been privy to page 4 of the very same day's Argus, he could have read that 28,230 of the city's EU citizens had applied to the EU Settlement Scheme.
Seems, someone still wants to play a blame game.
