FIREFIGHTERS were called to flames in a home last night.

Teams from across West Sussex were tasked with putting out the fire in the "domestic dwelling" in Crawley at 7.08pm.

At 9.50pm, the fire service announced that the blaze at Molins Court, Bewbush, had been extinguished.

A spokesman said: "Two crews from Crawley, one from Horsham and one from Turners Hill were in attendance.

"Our joint fire control centre has since confirmed that the 'stop' message has been received."

Pictures from the scene show a window was destroyed in the fire.

The building has been charred and its guttering has melted.

The crew from Turners Hill remained at the scene to help the fire investigation officers.

They also conducted a "hot strike" to check whether neighbours had working smoke detectors.
