Euro 2020: No predictions from creatures at Brighton Sealife

Despite, spending hours analysing statistics and arguing over whether it is coming home this year, many of us are often left red faced by our wildly incorrect predictions.

But we thought we would help to save the blushes of our readers by reaching out to the other side and contacting our mystic connections to see if they could offer any insight.

Otters in Sea Life Birmingham have been predicting the outcome of Euro 2020 games

After being informed that a pair of cheeky Northern Sea Otters in Birmingham, named Orla and Ozzy, had been predicting the results of England’s game against Croatia, we contacted the Sea Life centre in Brighton to find out if it had any fortune tellers among its occupants.

Unfortunately, we were told there are no mystic marine creatures or clairvoyant catfish at the world’s oldest aquarium in Marine Parade, Brighton.

But the Sea Life Centre is not entirely unfamiliar with telepathic, tentacled creatures.

In 2018, Pumpkin the Octopus predicted that Manchester United would triumph over Chelsea in that year’s FA Cup Final.

Two balls, one red and one blue, were dropped in her tank and Pumpkin punted for the red ball of United.

But perhaps Pumpkin was receiving mixed messages that day, as it was Chelsea who triumphed over the Red Devils after Eden Hazzard fired in a penalty.

A spokesman for the Sea Life Centre said that while there are no psychic animals, there are plenty of other amazing creatures that can be seen at the aquarium.

So, if you were hoping for a bit of magical assistance with your Euro 2020 predictions, it might be best to stick to good old fashioned superstitions – cross your fingers, enjoy the highs but always prepare for disappointment.
