A VAN driver crashed into the front of a town centre art gallery late at night.
Images show how the van belonging to a double glazing firm had crashed into Colonnade House in Worthing last night.
The building in Warwick Street is at the junction with the A259 and The Steyne.
Meanwhile the van belongs to The Double Glazed Window Repair Company Ltd, based in Ferring.
It appears that the window at the front of the art gallery was smashed in the crash.
Meanwhile bollards at the entrance to the town centre were damaged.
Colonnade House is an arts venue in Worthing with gallery and studio spaces for artists and designers.
It is currently exhibiting work by Shoreham painter Lucia Babjakova, originally from Slovakia, and her son Cassius. The exhibition is called Lucia and Cassius: Him and Me.
The van also sustained damage after the crash, believed to have taken place last night (Friday, June 11 into Saturday, June 12).
Pictures taken in the early hours of the morning show the extent of the crash.
Resident Sarah Croft said: "I live upstairs it was like an earthquake waking me up.
"The van driver came down Brighton Road and appeared to want to go straight down Warwick Street."
She said police attended the scene at 3.15am.
Sussex Police said the van crashed into the building shortly before 3am, and said the driver left the scene on foot.
It is not known if the anyone was hurt in the crash.
The police said: "No injuries were reported."
