Phil Salt was on the rampage again as Sussex Sharks made it two wins from two in the Vitality Blast.

But it was also a very special night for a Sussex teen – and a pleasing one for an experienced campaigner.

Salt followed his 77 not out at Gloucestershire on Friday with an unbeaten 72 as Sussex, chasing 155, beat Hampshire with 22 balls and nine wickets to spare.

He shared an unbroken second-wicket stand of 118 with Ravi Bopara, whose 56 not out was comfortably his top score for the county to date.

But the night will also be fondly remembered for the feats of Archie Lenham with the ball after Hampshire chose to bat first.

The 16-year-old son of former Sussex batsman Neil followed his wicket-taking debut at Bristol the previous evening by posting sensational figures of 3-14 from three overs.

He was cheered to the crease by an enthusiastic sell-out crowd of 2,500 as he delivered his first ever ball at Hove.

Tom Alsop clipped him high to the mid-wicket boundary and Aaron Thomason did well to take the catch while keeping his feet just inside the rope

SCORECARD

That moment of Sussex cricketing history sparked euphoric scenes around the crowd.

Lenham later had Lewis McManus caught in the deep by George Garton and Joe Weatherley very smartly stumped by Salt.

Garton also followed up good work in the win at Gloucestershire on Friday as he took 2-11 from four overs.

He had D’Arcy Short caught behind in a wicket-maiden as his opening two overs cost just a single.

Hampshire were 13-1 after four overs.

James Vince top-scored with 36 before being bowled as he attempted an ugly hoik off Will Beer.

Salt produced another highlight by diVing high to his right to pull off a stunning one-handed catch to remove Liam Dawson off the bowling off Tymal Mills.

Travis Head showed signs of an upturn in fortunes as he made 23 at the top of the reply before drilling the 12th ball he faced to mid-off.
