A WOMAN was spared a prison spell after she was caught performing a sex act in full view of children in public.

Kerry Louise Goldsmith was caught outraging public decency in Worthing.

The 39-year-old was “performing a sexual act” in public while “heavily intoxicated”, Crawley Magistrates’ Court heard.

Goldsmith, of Victoria Road, Horley, admitted the charge.

The court heard that children’s reactions had prompted adults to see what she was doing.

Magistrate Christopher Tomlinson noted that “a sexual act was performed in public with young people present”.

But the magistrate decided that there was a realistic prospect of Goldsmith being rehabilitated.

He also noted the “vulnerability” of Goldsmith when he imposed a four-month suspended sentence.

She must also pay a £128 surcharge and £85 costs, to be taken from her benefits. She must also complete 36 rehabilitation sessions.
