SOUL singer Gabrielle will be among the big names at a music festival this summer.

The Rye International Jazz and Blues Festival is to host outdoor shows on the beachside South Lawn of the De La Warr Pavilion, Bexhill, from August 26 to 30.

The concerts will celebrate the best of British jazz, soul, funk, gospel and contemporary music.

Gabrielle takes to the stage on August 27 and will be performing her chart-topping hits, including Rise, Out Of Reach and Dreams.

The five-day line-up also includes Paul Carrack, who plays on August 26. The former frontman of Mike And The Mechanics has had a successful solo career since 1987.

On August 28, the afternoon and evening line-up will include Incognito, Courtney Pine, MF Robots, Snowboy and The Latin Section. There are also more acts to be announced.

For the Sunday show, August 29, acclaimed singer Rumer will be performing songs from her latest album Nashville Tears and favourite songs from her back catalogue of hits.

On Monday, August 30, there will be a celebration of the best of British gospel, soul and jazz with Mica Paris.

Also performing will be the Kingdom Choir and contemporary jazz singer-songwriters and pianists Ian Shaw and Liane Carroll.

The festival also plans to stage a range of socially distanced live music performances at various locations within Rye, featuring the best of local and regional music talent.
