A FUNDRAISING page has received thousands of pounds of donations in memory of a young girl who was found dead in a country park.

The parents of Robyn Skilton, from Horsham, have set up a special memorial website as a tribute to their daughter who was found at Southwater Country Park on Friday, May 14.

Her family have asked anyone who knew Robyn to share their memories, thoughts, and stories.

In a moving post, a friend described Robyn as a “beautiful girl inside and out” whose death had “broken the hearts of so many people”.

A fundraiser has also been set up in memory of Robyn, with all the funds going to supporting mental health services at Millais School in Depot Road, Horsham, where the teenager was a pupil.

Despite being set up for less than a month, the fundraiser has already raised more than £7,000.

In a post on Facebook, Robyn’s sister Tiff Skilton wrote: “Whether you know me and my family or not, I’d appreciate if you’d take a few minutes to listen to my sister, Robyn’s story and what you can do to support students at Millais School experiencing similar difficulties to Robyn.”

In a statement shared through Sussex Police Robyn’s family said they were “heartbroken at the passing of our darling daughter Robyn.”

They added: "We have lost so much, a creative, artistic and stylish teenager with so much life ahead to explore, a funny, caring and beautiful sister with such an infectious laugh.

"Our little girl, our precious daughter will leave a hole in our lives that will never be filled.

"Robyn is and always will be, deeply missed.

"Our family is devastated by this loss and appreciate our privacy being respected at this time.”

Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and the case has been passed to the coroner’s office.
