A MAN has appeared in court accused of murdering Billy Henham in Brighton.

Dushane Meikle, of Amberley Drive, Hangleton, is alleged to have killed Billy on January 2 last year.

The 24-year-olds body was discovered at a disused building in North Street, Brighton, after officers attended the property following a report of concern for a person.

Meikle appeared before Brighton Magistrates’ Court today after he was charged by detectives following an investigation by the Special Enforcement Unit.

Wearing a black t-shirt, he stood with his arms folded and straight-faced, as the murder charge was read out.

He spoke to confirm his name and address but was unable to remember the postcode of the home.

When asked if he understood the charges against him, he nodded and said "I do".

Meikle was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Lewes Crown Court tomorrow at 10am.

Following his charge last night, Detective superintendent Alex Geldart, who is leading the investigation, said: “Our thoughts are with Billy’s family and friends at this time.”

Three other men have also been charged with the murder of Billy and were remanded in custody in May.
