MasterChef: The Professionals winner Steven Edwards is set to expand his Hove restaurant etch.

The chef and his investors have bought the former beauticians next door in Church Road.

The extension involves bringing both buildings together to form a two storey venue.

The site will have a new cocktail bar and temperature controlled wine room.

Popular features from the current restaurant such as the open kitchen, private dining room and cosy booths will be retained.

The restaurant interior will feature neutral and earthy tones against black metal framings.

The exterior of the restaurant will be repainted in a timeless black.

The menu at etch. will change two to three times per month with ingredients rotating to ensure the restaurant operates as sustainably as possible.

Steven, who opened etch. in a former bank in 2017, said: "It’s four years since I opened etch. and I’m proud and delighted with we’ve achieved so far.

"However, you only see a building’s weaknesses when you’ve lived there for a while and space was one of these issues.

"When the premises door came up for lease we didn’t hesitate.

"It’s given us the opportunity to create a bigger and better restaurant that offers a first-class experience from the moment our guests arrive until the moment they leave."

Whilst the refurbishment at etch. takes place, Steven and the team will be taking over at The Pass at South Lodge in Horsham from Friday, July 2 until Sunday, August 29.

Steven was the winner of the 2013 MasterChef: The Professionals competition.
