SUPERSTAR Ed Sheeran says he is a big fan of Brighton rapper and Tik Tok sensation ArrDee.

The singer-songwriter praised social media star ArrDee, 18, while appearing on radio station Capital Extra to promote his new single.

Speaking to the show’s presenters, Ed said: “I love how he’s 18 and smashing it.

“I was, like, 20 when I had my first top ten, but even then I think if you’d had had it at 18, you’re like living, living, living life.”

Ed, 30, went to play an acoustic cover of Brighton-born ArrDee’s song Oliver Twist – which is currently at number six in the UK Official Singles Chart.

ArrDee, whose real name is Riley Davies, first started making a name for himself on the rap and grime music scene earlier this year.

Music magazine Clash said ArrDee is “taking the UK rap scene by storm” and described him as one to watch.

It wrote: “The 18-year-old is proudly waving the flag for Brighton, winning just about everyone over with his geezer-raps and audacious wordplay."

ArrDee released his freestyle track Cheeky Bars in January, and the music video has now amassed more than nine million views on YouTube.

The rapper became an internet sensation when his verse on the chart-topping remix of Tion Wayne and Russ Million’s song Body, became popular on video-sharing platform TikTok.

Body became the first drill track, a sub-genre of hip-hop, to reach the number one spot in the UK .

In March, ArrDee released 6am in Brighton, a love letter to the city which was filmed at locations along Brighton and Hove seafront.

The track includes lyrics including “I f****** love my city” and “I’m just a seaside boy.”

In the video, which now has more than six million YouTube hits, the teenager can be seen rapping outside of Shelter Hall, Brighton Music Hall and posing in front of the West Pier.

Adree says his musical influences include Eminem, N-Duz star Dappy and American rapper Travis Scott.
