A MAP developed on four years of online searches can show who the most famous person associated with any place is.

The map that The Pudding website has created has collected search data from Wikipedia to find out who the most searched for people are for specific places. Towns and cities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have been replaced with famous residents or people born or connected to that place.

Sussex has links to many well-known celebrities such as Piers Morgan in Lewes and Theresa May in Eastbourne, but a few names surprise a few names on the map.

Gwendoline Christie - Worthing

The actor is best known for her performances in Star Wars and Game of Thrones, but before she was on the big screen, she was born in Worthing and grew up in a hamlet near the South Downs.

Gwendoline Christie most recently appeared in films Our Friend and The Personal History of David Copperfield. She will next be hitting the screen in the TV mini-series Dirty Diana, she is also expected to appear in a few episodes of Lucifer.

Rag 'N' Bone Man - Uckfield

The singer, whose name is Rory Charles Graham, was born in the small town of Uckfield. He attended King's Academy Ringmer in Lewes Road, Ringmer, but then moved to Uckfield College in Downsview Cresent, Uckfield, after being expelled.

He has won three Brit awards, including the Best British Single in 2018 and the Critics' Choice Award, and the Best Breakthrough Act in 2017.

Alex Horne - Petworth

The before appearing on Taskmaster as Greg Davies's aide, the comedian was born in Petworth and educated at Lancing College.

As well as appearing on Taskmaster, he has been on other shows such as 8 out of 10 cats, Countdown, Drunk History, Richard Osman's House of Games and is currently on the Euros comedy football show Peter Crouch: Save Our Summer.

Some other noteworthy famous people with links to Sussex locations are the band The Cure, which formed in Crawley.

Actor Ronnie Barker, who was known for his roles in television series such as Porridge, The Two Ronnies and Open All Hours, lived in Littlehampton.

Football commentator Jonathan Pearce now lives in Hassocks and Alfie Deyes, a vlogger whose youtube channel has over 4.80 million subscribers, lives in Brighton.
