A PLANE has crashed near Goodwood Airfield.
Sussex Police said the light aircraft came down just north of the airfield this afternoon.
The fire and ambulance service are at the scene with officers from the force.
A police spokeswoman said: "The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and we have no further information at present."
West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said crews from Chichester and the Technical Rescue Unit were in attendance.
“We would urge people to continue to avoid the area for the time being to allow emergency service staff to work safely,” a West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service spokesman said.
