FORMER Blue member Duncan James will be joining Heather Peace, Bitten Peach and many more in performing at Pride at the Ironworks this summer, it has been announced.

After the cancellation of this year’s Pride, the organisers of the event have planned an “extensive season of smaller LGBTQ+ cultural events”, featuring cabaret, comedy, dance and theatre acts, live from the Ironworks Studios in central Brighton.

The events, taking place across August and September, will include Hannah Brackenury’s Victorious - the award-winning musical comedy tribute to the late Victoria Wood, as well as the LGBTQ+ one man show Bottom, and Brighton’s own Boogaloo Stu.

Director of Brighton and Hove Pride Paul Kemp said: “Although we’ve not been able to deliver our main Pride events for the last two years, we are thrilled to be able to adapt to the present a local cultural programme that can bring our communities together as well as supporting local LGBTQ+ organisations and community groups who do such essential work all year round.

“We are delighted that Pride at the Ironworks will allow us to continue our fundraising efforts by ensuring that every ticket sold will include a charitable donation to The Brighton Rainbow Fund.”

Brighton and Hove Pride have raised almost one million pounds for local LGBTQ+ charities and community groups to improve the livelihoods of hundreds of people in the city’s LGBTQ+ community.
