AN 80-YEAR-OLD-man has been left seriously injured after he was attacked in a supermarket car park.

Officers were called to the car park of the Asda store in Pegler Way, Crawley, around 10.55am on Saturday, following reports of a man being assaulted.

The victim, an 80-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains at this time.

A 29-year-old man from Crawley has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

The car park was busy at the time of the assault, and officers investigating the matter are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened.
