A POPULAR circus is to return to the county after wowing audiences earlier this year.

The Continental Circus Berlin has announced it will be performing shows in Lancing, Hastings and Eastbourne.

There will be a collection of circus acts and music that will incorporate performers from all over the world.

The show is said to be "a breath of fresh air, and the feats and skills seen at the Continental circus Berlin are often so amazing that the circus-goer literally cannot believe their eyes".

Clowns Angelo and Eddie, will guide visitors through the show, which also includes beautiful aerialists, high-wire walkers, the rotating wheel of destiny, motorbike balancers, hula hoop queens.

There will also be whirlwind acrobats and the death-defying globe of death with riders travelling at g-force speeds inside a mesh dome.

The show is housed in a climate-controlled, socially distanced, Covid-19 secure theatre-style big top.

John Haze, the director of Circus Berlin, said: "The cast and crew of Continental Circus Berlin love coming to Sussex it is a great vibrant place, and Lancing is a perfect location for a week in the summer.

"Following the success of the NHS staff and Care worker preview shows at Brighton Fringe we have also decided to extend this offer to the lovely people of Lancing.

"We are offering free tickets to NHS and Care workers for the shows on Friday July 23 as a thank you for all their hard work, especially during the last 13 months.

"As well as saving lives, they have also indirectly help to get our industry up and running again, and for that, we are forever grateful, and we promise them Great Entertainment."

NHS staff and care workers are being offered free tickets to a special preview show by the circus, as a thank you for the work they have done over the course of the pandemic.

This preview show will take place at 7.45pm on July 23. Any NHS staff or Care workers are invited to come along with one guest each while there is availability.

NHS and care workers are asked to call the box-office manager to reserve their seats, and they will have to bring proof of employment when collecting their tickets.

The offer is capped at the first 300 seats as the venue capacity has been reduced to allow for social distancing.
