A ROAD was shut after a report of a man shooting seagulls with a firearm.
Lewes Road in Brighton was closed off by police at 5.20pm yesterday afternoon.
It had been reported that the man was shooting birds with a gun from flats near the road.
"Officers attended and Lewes Road was temporarily closed at the Vogue Gyratory as a safety precaution," said a spokesman for Sussex Police.
"No suspect was identified and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
"Anyone with information, or who witnessed anything suspicious, can report it online or call 101, quoting 1185 of 14/07."
