ALBION fans have had a mixed reaction to the team's new away kit for the upcoming Premier League season.

The new shirt, made by Nike, is a mint green colour - the first time Albion will wear the colour in their history.

Some fans love the new look saying that it "looks mint".

One even described the kit as the "best one since we've been in the Premier League".

Others pointed out that the mint green colour can be seen elsewhere in Brighton.

Albion fan site, We are Brighton, said: "Depending on your viewpoint, it either invokes the spirit of the Royal Pavillion, Madeira Terrace or mint ice cream.

"Craving a trip to Marrocco's at 10am on a Wednesday morning is not a good thing."

The distinctive shade is not dissimilar to the railings running along the seafront.

Fans also pointed out that it is reminiscent of Brighton and Hove City Buses, as well as Brighton and Hove Radio Cabs.

Writing on Twitter, Rob Carron said: "Will blend in nicely with the Brighton taxis."

Others pointed out that the colour is similar to the branding used by Brighton Gin.

After this was pointed out to the company, they tweeted to say: "Wow, it certainly is. Go the Seagulls."

It was also compared to kits that have been worn by other teams in recent years.

One fan joked that Nike had simply stuck a new badge on a kit worn by Liverpool last season.

Another fan compared it to the Errea "Aqua" third shirt that Walsall FC wore for the 2019/20 season.

Some fans said they weren't too bothered about the design as long as the team perform better than last season.

Last season, Albion sported a yellow top during away games, but they did not win a single game while wearing it.

Albion will start their Premier League season against Burnley at Turf Moor Stadium on August 14, so fans may not have to wait too long to see the kit in action.
