A SEAL has been pictured cooling off in the scorching sunshine.

The male grey seal, who is being cared for by the RSPCA after he was found with wounds, enjoyed a hose down during the recent hot weather.

The animal, named Jupiter, is homed at the RSPCA’s Mallydams Wood Wildlife Centre in Hastings, East Sussex.

Jupiter arrived at the centre on April 12 having been rescued by British Divers Marine Life Rescue from a beach in Deal, Kent.

He was found alone with wounds and a nasty cough, and is currently being treated for tapeworm.

The RSPCA said he is recovering well and will be returned to the wild when he’s strong enough.

“RSPCA staff have been working hard to keep the thousands of animals in their care across England and Wales cool during the heatwave this week,” a spokeswoman said.

“He and his seal friends spent time in the outdoor pools being hosed down during the hot weather.”
