A Brighton restaurant has been ranked one of the most Instagrammable in the UK, according to a recent study.

The Ivy in Ship Street came fifth in the report by Uswitch, with over 3,000 Instagram hashtags.

The venue scored highly for its bright furniture, patterned walls and 13,800 followers on the social media platform.

“The funky décor is just the start when it comes to this venue,” the report said.

“Indulge in an afternoon tea with handcrafted cakes, order some impressive cocktails or book a private dining experience. With so much to offer The Ivy is the perfect place to get that picture for the gram!”

However, Brighton bars and restaurants missed out on the top spot to the Sky Garden atop the ‘Walkie Talkie’ building in central London, with its spectacular views across the capital, shrubbery and 146,000 Instagram followers.

Brighton as a whole came seventh for most Instagrammed bars, with 779 hashtags per capita, compared with 2,521 by first place Edinburgh.

Bohemia on Meeting House Lane and Proud Cabaret on St George’s Road rounded off the top three most Instagrammed bars in Brighton, with Six on Western Road and The Salt Room on Kings Road coming fourth and fifth respectively.

Bars and restaurants are finally starting to return to some form of normality with the easing of lockdown measures, with thousands flocking to Brighton’s roughly 900 pubs to enjoy the heatwave.
