A MAN has been arrested after he tried to flee police in a pursuit along the coast.

Police chased the driver through Worthing, Lancing and Shoreham last night before being arrested for several offences.

The pursuit was brought to a stop with help from the tactical firearms unit (TFU).

Pictures are taken from the scene of the show several police cars stopped in the road where the chase came to a stop.

Writing on Twitter, Sussex Roads Police said: "We arrested a male following a pursuit through Worthing, Lancing and Shoreham.

"The pursuit was brought to safe conclusion with help from our colleagues on TFU.

"He was arrested for dangerous driving, failing to stop, theft of motor vehicle, drink and drug driving and more!"
