HORDES of partygoers are set to descend on Brighton beach this weekend for a huge event featuring Chase and Status and Pendulum.

Workers have been building a temporary seafront venue this week ahead of a two-day party called On The Beach.

The sold-out events will see big names entertain huge crowds from 2-10.30pm this Saturday and Sunday on the seaside by Madeira Drive.

Events will also be happening this evening between 5-10.30pm.

On The Beach previously wrote to nearby residents to let them know about the event.

The letter said: "We are very proud to be bringing this special event next to Banjo Groyne on Brighton beach.

"We are really excited to put on our event at this location and will do everything in our power to be good to our neighbours.

"We have created a strong management structure to ensure that we take care of the site and return it in a condition similar to which we received it.

"We hope that our activity here does not disturb your daily life and we hope to see you at the event if you have purchased a ticket."

Organisers say that noise levels will be monitored over the weekend to ensure they do not exceed "strict" limits given by the council.

After the event's closure, organisers said, they will work with a waste management company for the clean-up operation for litter and waste.
