PUNK and folk singer-songwriter Frank Turner performed a live gig at seaside venue Concorde 2 yesterday night.
Finding fame through the old fashioned route, word of mouth, Frank’s career grew from crashing on people’s floors after a gig to performing at some of the most prestigious arenas in the country, including Wembley and The O2.
His blend of folk, punk and rock has seen him develop a highly devoted fanbase who were out in force in Brighton last night to see him and his band The Sleeping Souls.

Frank’s performance comes in the week after coronavirus restrictions in England were lifted, allowing limits on gatherings to be lifted and for nightclubs like Concorde 2 to reopen. Up until this Monday, venues were allowed to reopen only with limited audiences, with nightclubs still forced to remain closed.
The performer had taken part in some of the trial schemes ahead of the easing of restrictions, with events requiring ticket holders to test negative before attending. In the trials, concertgoers who did test negative then had no restrictions to social distance or wear face coverings.
Frank will be teaming up with Brighton punk rock band Creature Creature in November to work on their latest EP.
