Dogs are welcome in the park’s gardens, along its Parkland and Walk Wood trails, in the shop and in the garden room of its onsite café the Coach House where our canine companions can enjoy a special doggy ice-cream.

The Park has water bowls by its visitor reception and outside the Coach House Café and there are six dog bins on site.

The National Trust does ask that all four-legged visitors to the gardens are kept on a lead.

Petworth Park, a National Trust site in West Sussex, was ranked as the sixth most dog friendly park in the country.

“We love dogs here at Petworth, in fact Spaniels were the favourite pet of the 3rd Earl of Egremont of Petworth House.

“Nowadays, we welcome dogs to stretch their legs in Petworth Park and the garden all year around”, the National Trust said.

With over 700 acres of parkland, there are many paths and trails for dogs to explore.

Petworth Park scored 60 on the index ranking, alongside Kingston Lacey National Park in Dorest and Croome in Worcestershire.
