A MAN connected to a verbal racial attack on a bus has been identified.

Police sought a man in connection with a racially aggravated public order offence on a bus in Western Road, Brighton, on May 31.

And officers have now said the man has been in contact with the police, and enquiries are continuing.

Police made the appeal over alleged racially explicit insults made towards someone on a Brighton and Hove bus.

A public appeal for the identity of a man wanted in connection with the offence was issued by police on July 26.

A description and a photo of the man was released.

The man was believed to be around 40, roughly 5ft 10, of stocky build, with dyed blonde hair which has been tied back.

He was wearing a short-sleeved tight black shirt with white stars all over and black shorts.

He was also wearing a blue disposable face mask.

The man was with another man, and the pair also had a small dog with them.

They were sat on the lower deck near the front of the bus when the incident happened.
