ALL lines between Seaford and Lewes that were blocked due to a police incident have now been reopened.

Trains were unable to run between the two stations as officers from Sussex police attend an emergency.

Passengers should expect delays of 15 minutes to their journeys as Southern Rail continue to clear the backlog.

Tickets are also being accepted on Brighton and Hove Bus route 12/12X/12A for passengers currently travelling.

Writing on Twitter, a Southern Rail spokesman said: "Due to the police dealing with an incident between Seaford and Lewes, all lines are currently blocked.

"Please allow extra time to complete your journey.

"At present, we are expecting your journey to take an additional 15 minutes to complete however this is likely to change.

"Our Control teams are now seeking alternative to keep you on the move this morning."
