RAPPER ArrDee has been nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.

The Brighton-born musician is a nominee at the 2021 Rated Awards, which are due to take place in September in partnership with YouTube Music.

This year’s Rated Awards is a celebration of the best in Black British music based between June 1, 2020, and June 1, 2021.

ArrDee, real name Riley Davies, is nominated for the Breakthrough of the Year award alongside BackRoad Gee, ENNY, Central Cee, French The Kid, Jordan, Shaybo, SR, Pa Salieu and Wewantwraiths.

ArrDee shot onto the music scene in April after the release of the chart-topping remix Body alongside Tion Wayne and Russ Millions.

The hit song became an overnight sensation after his verse gained popularity on TikTok.

The Rated Awards, which look to acknowledge musicians for their contributions and impact to and on the culture, features 10 award categories.

Among those with multiple nods are rappers AJ Tracey, Stormzy and Headie One.

The other awards up for grabs on the night include Album of the Year, Male and Female Artists of the Year, Personality of the Year, Track of the Year and Video of the Year.

Rated Awards CEO and founder Posty said: “Excited to be back celebrating the best in UK rap and grime music. It’s been an incredible year in music, congratulations to all of this year’s nominees.”

Winners will be revealed when the virtual ceremony is streamed exclusively on YouTube from 7pm on Thursday, September 16.
