FOOTAGE shows the aftermath of a crash that left an eight-year-old boy with serious injuries after being hit by a Tesla.

Six children and one parent were injured in the accident in College Road, Ardingly, at about 4.30pm on Monday.

An eight-year-old boy was flown by air ambulance to St George’s Hospital in London, where he remains.

Police said his injuries are serious, but not life threatening, after he was reportedly trapped underneath the electric car during the accident.

The other six people were all taken to hospitals for treatment to minor injuries.

The driver of the blue Tesla, a 47-year-old woman, was uninjured.

Footage from the scene shows the aftermath of the incident, including a number of emergency response vehicles entering and leaving the college’s premises.

The video also shows the Tesla being driven away from Ardingly College on the back of a lorry.

The front passenger side of the car was damaged in the collision.

Superintendent James Collis thanked the emergency services and members of the public who assisted at the scene.

“Our thoughts are with those there yesterday and their families,” he said.

“The cause of the collision will form part of our investigation, and we ask people not to speculate at this time. Thank you to those that have already given details.”

Police are investigating the crash and urging anyone who saw what happened, including any relevant dash cam or mobile phone footage, to please get in touch.
