A SUPERMARKET has welcomed customers back after a £600,000 makeover.

The chain has also expanded its range gluten of free and vegan products, wines, ready meals and pizzas.

Mark Stevens, area manager, said: “We’re really excited to reopen the store to the community and look forward to welcoming them into a new experience. Co-op is committed to making a difference locally and we have worked to develop the range, choice product and services during the refit and as part of this significant investment.”

Students in the area who are Totum cardholders can pocket a ten per cent discount off groceries in store.

Members will also be given the chance to make a difference to local causes, with the Co-op donating two per cent to community causes every time a member swipes a membership card when buying own-branded products.

Emma Bowtle, store manager, said: “The team is beyond proud to be able to welcome customers old and new to see the extended, improved and new range on offer.”

Co-op has around 4.6 million active member, and alongside food, it operates Co-op Funeralcare, insurance and legal services.
