Nando’s has closed some of its restaurants after running out of peri-peri chicken.
The chain has temporarily shut about 50 outlets across England, Scotland and Wales after suffering supply shortages.
A total of nine Nando’s restaurants across Sussex are currently shut or affected by the shortages.
Here is a list of the affected sites accordings to the Nando's website:
• Brighton Marina, Brighton - closed for eat-in, delivery and collect
• Goldstone Retail Park, Hove - closed for eat-in, delivery and collect
• Crawley Leisure Park - closed for eat-in, delivery and collect
• South Terminal, Gatwick Airport - closed for eat-in, click and collect and delivery
• Duke Street, Brighton - open for eat-in and collect only
• East Street, Horsham - open for eat-in and collect only
• The Beacon, Eastbourne - open for eat-in and collect only
• Chichester Gate Leisure Park, Chichester - open for eat-in and collect only
Responding to upset customers on Twitter, Nando’s described the situation as “a bit of a mare”.
“This is having a knock-on effect with some of our restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales.
“We are doing everything we can to get the peri-peri back where it belongs – on your plates!”
In another tweet, the restaurant, which serves Afro-Portuguese inspired chicken dishes, apologised for the “disappointment” and said suppliers could not keep up with “demand for peri-peri”.
Nando’s said: “We’re sorry for any disappointment caused.
“Our suppliers are struggling to keep up with demand for peri-peri. Meaning that some of our restaurants have had to temporarily close to restock.”
