THIEVES raided a jewellery shop and stole gold and diamond rings.
Police are investigating the burglary at a store in Terminus Road, Eastbourne, on Sunday.
Officers were called to Special Things after its alarm sounded at about 8.45am.
When police arrived, they found the shop had been broken into and a quantity of gold and diamond rings had been stolen.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "It is believed the suspect entered the building via an alleyway that runs between Bolton Road and Cornfield Road.
"Officers investigating the matter are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around that time, and may have seen any suspicious activity.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 1254 of 29/08.
"Alternatively, you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
