A ROAD has been closed due to a serious crash involving a motorcycle.
Station Road in East Preston has been shut in both directions after the crash this morning.
A green Kawasaki J300 motor scooter was travelling southbound on the road at about 7.10am when it collided with street furniture at the junction with Vicarage Lane.
There is slow traffic on A259 Roundstone By-Pass Road both ways between B2140 Station Road and Roundstone Lane.
A Sussex Police spokesman said: "Enquiries are ongoing to identify the rider.
"Police are urging witnesses, anyone with dash cam or CCTV, or anyone who saw the vehicle being ridden in the area prior to the crash, to come forward.
"You can email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk quoting Operation Hawthorns.
"A section of the road remains closed and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes in the meantime."
