THE Hotel Inspector Alex Polizzi has been announced as the guest speaker at a lunch for a charity with a link to Princess Diana.

The TV star will appear at a fundraising event for a charity that helps people with learning disabilities gain meaningful employment and a career.

Events company Best of British are raising money for Team Domenica with a lunch at the Dome Room in Hotel Du Vin, Brighton on October 14.

The charity were set up by Rosa Monckton whose daughter, Domenica, has Down’s Syndrome and was Princess Diana’s last godchild.

Team Domenica passionately upholds the values of the Princess of Wales, who died 24 years ago today - that “everybody needs to be valued and everyone has the potential to give something back”.

Rosa had the idea to help young people with learning disabilities to find and retain meaningful employment through their "three-tier setup" which includes a training centre, training café and employment centre all in Brighton and Hove.

Ryan Heal, Managing Director at Best of British, said that Team Domenica will receive 100 percent of the profits raised on the day.

He added: “We have no targets but I hope the event will raise thousands for the charity.

“We have made it quite an exclusive, intimate event with Alex, so it’s only 80 guests. It’s not one of these big gala dinners with hundreds and hundreds of people.”

Team Domenica aim to “empower” people with learning disabilities to start a career through their three employment programmes.

The charity has a 75 per cent paid employment rate through their supported internships, more than 12 times higher than the national statistic of six percent for people with learning disabilities.

Alex Polizzi, who is a trustee for the charity, will be providing some insight of her life in the hospitality industry.

Ryan added: “It’s going to be a little bit of life and times and her story. They have a massive heritage with the hospitality industry.

“Hopefully she will be regaling us about stories with the Hotel Inspector and her recent series in Alfriston.”
