A WINDOW cleaning firm has brought back their competition for the second year in a row, and this time are doing 100 windows free of charge.

Albion Window Cleaning ran a competition in May 2020 which saw them clean 50 windows for free for residents across Brighton and Hove to bring some joy across the city and raise money for Martlets Hospice.

Pete Blakeney and Greg Grundy mainly focused their competition at the elderly, vulnerable, as well as NHS staff last year in Brighton and Hove.

But this year, they are expanding the area to Worthing as well.

Pete, Director at Albion Window Cleaning said: “This time we have opened it up to everybody really. Anybody who wants a free clean, sign up themselves or recommend someone.”

They now have five vans and have challenged themselves to raise more money for the hospice close to their hearts.

Pete added: “We have got more vans and we thought we’d see if we can improve a lot more people’s windows.

The Argus: Albion Window Cleaning are offering 100 free cleans this year.

“It went so well last time and made people so happy and we raised a lot of money for the Martlet’s Hospice. We thought if we can push for 100, we might be able to raise even more money for them.”

Martlets Hospice has cared for Pete and Greg’s families in the past.

He said: “So Martlet’s do a lot of good work around our area and they also looked after my nan and grandad. They did a lot of care for them and have done for mine and Greg’s family in the past.”

To enter the competition, Pete said people need comment on their Facebook post nominating as many people as they like.

Albion Window Cleaning are selecting 100 people at random on Friday, September 17 - with the lucky winners set to get their free front window cleans on Friday, September 24.

Pete and his team are asking for donations to Martlets Hospice, which they have set up a fundraiser for on their Facebook page.
