THE mother of a two-year-old boy who died from his injuries after a car crash has paid tribute to her son.

Last month, Joshua Hoyle was critically injured in the crash which also took the life of his father, Andy Hoyle.

A 76-year-old man arrested after the fatal August 18 collision on the A267 has been released under investigation.

Andy, 36, died at the scene in Frant and Joshua, two, died from his injuries on Friday. Both were from Dartford, Kent.

Joshua's mother said: "Joshua was our loving and energetic boy and the centre of both mine and Andy's world.

“To have lost both of them in this way is absolutely devastating.

"As a family we will never stop loving and missing them, and would ask to be allowed to grieve privately while we come to terms with this tragedy."

The 76-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and for failing to stop after a road accident.

He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

A spokeswoman for Sussex Police said: “We are investigating the collision, which occurred shortly after 11am, continue to appeal for any witnesses to come forward.

“They would particularly like to hear from anyone who may have captured any dash cam footage from the area around that time.

“Anyone with information is asked to email collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting Operation Utility.”
