THE Palace Pier has been brought to life in a work of art as part of a national "golden ticket" giveaway.

National Rail is offering a bespoke illustrated image of Brighton Palace Pier, in the form of a unique train ticket, as one of 12 available to win.

The lucky recipient of a "golden ticket" will also win a year’s worth of free train travel to explore Britain with ease.

Brighton illustrator Clare Rollet designed the images for the tickets, bringing to life locations from across the UK that Brits would most like to visit.

The competition was inspired by research from the rail industry, which found that the pandemic has had a detrimental effect on the nation’s work-life balance. Two in five of working adults in the South East have worked additional hours during the pandemic, with 29 per cent experiencing feelings of burnout.

The study also found that 45 per cent of people in the South East are planning more day trips and short breaks by train to make the most of their leisure time.

People can enter the giveaway at nationalrail.co.uk/goldenticket.

An event will also be taking place at Brighton station on November 12 for more chances to win hundreds more prizes.
