A MAN has been arrested following reports of a knifeman in Brighton railway station.
British Transport Police were called to the station at 6.59pm yesterday after reports of a man in possession of a knife.
Officers attended the scene, where a 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
He was sent to police custody where he remains, a spokesman from the British Transport Police said.
They added: "British Transport Police were called to Brighton railway station at 6.59pm yesterday (5 September) following reports of a man in possession of a knife.
'Officers attended, and a 63-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon.
'He was conveyed to police custody where he remains.'
