INDIE folk band The Staves have announced a show in Brighton in support of their new album.

The group are set to take to the stage at St George’s Church in Kemp Town on Saturday, October 9.

The concert is part of the trio’s UK wide tour and coincides with the release of The Staves third studio album Good Woman.

The Staves, who formed in Watford in 2009, is made up of sisters Jessica, Camilla and Emily Staveley-Taylor.

“We’re so excited and thankful to be announcing a UK tour,” they said. “It’s been a long old year and we can't wait to play music in front of people again.

“We hope to see all your lovely faces there.”

The group said Good Woman was written and recorded in a time of “severe turmoil” for the band.

They said the end of relationships, the death of their mother and the birth of Emily’s first child helped sculpt the album.

The work was produced by John Congleton.
