JUST as we hoped, our August competition theme of “the rainbow flag and all things Pride” prompted a flood of wonderful, colourful entries from talented camera club members.

There were lots of pictures of Pride celebrations from years gone by, which prompted plenty of memories – and were a reminder of what Brighton and Hove has missed over the past couple of summers due to Covid.

As always, it was very difficult to choose the worthy winner of the monthly £50 prize.

We loved Andy Webb’s picture of Brighton’s Grand hotel and Marianna Dissing Bjerglys’s shot at the foot of the i360 – her own 2021 Pride celebration.

There were several pictures of the rainbow beach hut on Hove seafront – Letizia Morelli’s, appropriately, focused on the padlock and was captioned “the Pride hut in lockdown”.

But for originality and great composition, we have selected Mick Page’s great shot of rainbow kites over Goring beach as the August winner.

September’s theme is “last days of summer”. Entries should be posted on The Argus Camera Club Facebook page with a note to say where they were taken. It is one entry per person and the competition ends at midnight on September 30. As always, the winner will receive a £50 prize.
