A VAN has been destroyed in a fire on a major road.
Police were called over reports of a van on fire on the A271 near Hailsham at 6.15pm on September 10.
The road was closed for a short time while the fire service dealt with the fire.
The vehicle was recovered the next morning at 9.45am.
However, Sussex Police said it does not have details about the tax or insurance status of the vehicle.
Pictures taken from the scene show the van completely destroyed, with only the shell left standing.
Debris from the fire littered the road as officers from Sussex Police cordoned the vehicle off.
A spokesman from the force said: "Police were called over reports of a van on fire on the A271 near Hailsham at 6.15pm on September 10.
"The road was closed for a short time while the fire service dealt with the fire.
"The vehicle was recovered the next morning at 9.45am. At this time we do not have details about the tax or insurance status of the vehicle."
