CYCLISTS are being warned that they face disruption on the trains this weekend.

Southern Rail has said there will be restrictions in place this weekend due to the London to Brighton Bike Ride.

These restrictions will apply to all cyclists, not only those who are taking part in the event.

Saturday 18 and Monday 20

You may experience delays travelling on train services from Brighton with your cycle as these services can only hold a limited number of bicycles.

Normal peak Tim restrictions will apply o Monday, these can be viewed at southernrailway.com/cyclepolicy.

Sunday 19

Cycles will not be permitted on any Southern or Thameslink services from the start of service until 12pm.

Cycles will not be permitted on services departing from any station between Gatwick Airport, Chichester, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, Seaford, Eastbourne, Pevensey and Westham and Brighton.

A spokesman for Southern Rail said: "On Sunday September 19, restrictions will apply to those travelling with bikes due to the London to Brighton Bike Ride.

"On September 18 and 20, if you're travelling with your bike, you may experience delays as trains can only hold a limited number of bikes."
