A ROAD was blocked after a car flipped on its side during a collision that damaged a telegraph pole.

Grove Hill, Hellingly, was blocked both ways due to an accident at Cinderford Lane yesterday.

Pictures taken from the scene show the stricken vehicle overturned on its side while officers from Sussex Police block the road to warn oncoming motorists of the accident.

A telegraph pole was also damaged in the collision and was snapped with broken power cables.

The driver escaped the collision uninjured.

A recovery truck was later pictured at the scene to recover the stricken car.

A spokesman from Sussex Police said: "Emergency services responded to a report of an overturned car on Grove Hill, Hellingly, at 4.07pm on Friday.

"The vehicle had hit an electricity pole. The driver was uninjured."
